Alan Simms - Treasurer

Alan Simms is a senior project manager/business analyst at QuikQ, LLC in Franklin where he manages information technology projects.

Alan graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Alan was born and lived in Memphis through college and then moved to Texas where he lived for about 17 years before returning to Tennessee in 2014.

Alan’s partner of 23 years, Roger Walters, works for Chevron in Houston during the week and commutes back home to Franklin each weekend.

Alan & Roger purchased their home on Lewisburg Avenue (formerly Tandy Rice’s house) in 2011 and completed their remodel and moved in in 2016.

Alan & Roger have two rescued yellow English Labradors: Roxanne and Rosanne (Rox & Rose!)

Bob Ravener - President

Bob has a long and successful track record of service and community involvement as a business leader, author, and military veteran. He and his wife Lisa moved into downtown Franklin in 2017 to enjoy the beauty, friendliness, and walkability of the community. They are proud parents of three adult children and working on their fourth grandchild.

Juli Clendenin - Secretary

Juli is a Nashville native but has lived in Franklin since 1999. She and her husband Robert have been married over 30 years and have four kids. With just one left at home, they are almost empty nesters. Juli is a psychotherapist with a private practice in Cool Springs. Juli says she has the best neighbors and loves living in Downtown Franklin.

Walter Green, Vice President

Walt Green is a retired professional engineer. He is also a first time book author who loves Franklin. Walt is passionate about seeing the city of Franklin retain its soul as it navigates through its growth. Walt is married to Louise “Weezie” with three children and eight grandchildren.

 
 
 

Alexa Baker

Born and raised in Falkirk, Scotland, Alexa has lived in the USA since 2007, and in Franklin since 2009. She is married to Daniel, they have two children and moved to downtown Franklin 2 years ago. An avid volunteer she finds it hard to say no, and is looking forward to playing an active role in the DNA.

Patty Miller

Patty Miller was raised in Denver, Colorado, graduated from The University of Alabama in 1985 and has remained in the South ever since. She arrived in downtown Franklin via corporate transfer in 2012 and loves life here with her husband Rob and 2 cats.

After leaving a 25 year career in technology and advertising for companies including Apple and AT&T, she is proudly employed at The Harpeth Hotel in Franklin. Patty has served as HOA President for Winstead Court Condominiums since 2018 and is honored to serve her greater community via the DNA board.

Steve Fahey

Steve was born in Nashville but attended middle and high school in Franklin. He received his BS in engineering and an MBA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He started his career in Management Consulting focused on supply chain and operations and later shifted into an industry working for several manufacturing companies.

Steve currently serves as VP, Global Supply Chain for Kaiser Aluminum, based here in Franklin. He and his wife Ginny have two daughters who were born in Atlanta, but grew up in Franklin after the family moved back in 1998. They both love travel and community involvement. They also love Franklin and want to do all they can to support it.

Brett Jones

Brett Jones grew up in Leiper’s Fork when Puckett’s was just a place to buy two-cent bubblegum. He attended Williamson County public schools, graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2006, and married his high school sweetheart Christina shortly thereafter. They are raising their three children in downtown Franklin, Tennessee. Brett is a co-founder of B.G. Jones & Company, a real estate appraisal firm, where he works with his three brothers, Ben, Thad, and Seth. He is also an affiliate broker and co-founder of OBR Real Estate, a real estate brokerage.

He enjoys playing tennis, helping coach the Freedom MS tennis team, reading, playing guitar (poorly), and adventuring around with the family in an RV. Brett serves on the board of Gold Star Mentors, the board of the Volunteer Rugby Foundation, and committees for the University of Tennessee Men’s Rugby Club and the Tennessee Chapter of the Appraisal Institute.

Bob Barrett

Bob has lived in Franklin since 2015, having been a long-time Nashvillian. He retired from Metro Nashville Government, working in Human Resources. Currently he is on the board of the Franklin Housing Authority. His spouse, Andy Peterson, works for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Bob loves the history and friendliness of Franklin.

Shelly Robertson Birdsong

Shelly and her husband Johnny are the owners of local boutique media company – Robertson Media Group, LLC and Publishers of YOUR Williamson, YOUR Sumner and Distinctively Southern Wedding magazines.

Shelly is a near native of Franklin – having moved here with her family at the age of 5. She grew up learning about and loving her community and at a very young age, began volunteering and participating in anything and everything she could, involving the history of our county, including as a docent at Carnton and a Heritage Ball hostess for many years of her childhood and into her adult years. She is a 1992 graduate of Franklin High School and a 1996 graduate of the University of Mississippi. She is the previous Director of Fundraising and Events for the Heritage Foundation and Downtown Franklin Association and Publisher for previous local publications VIP Williamson and VIP Murfreesboro. In 2011 she opened her business – RMG and has since been working to create THE lifestyle | social | community | business magazine for and about distinctively southern places, with YOUR Williamson as their flagship product. Through the business, Shelly is involved in and supports numerous events and organizations throughout the year in our community in tandem with the publication. She has served has Heritage Ball Chair, Mardi Gras Ball Chair, board member and Interim Director of the Cool Springs Chamber, board member of My Friends House and as Parents Board liaison for Battle Ground Academy. She has personally worked on, chaired and volunteered for countless organizations and events throughout the years. She is a former member of the Franklin Noon Rotary and graduate of the 2010 Class of Leadership Franklin.

Johnny and Shelly are members of Franklin First United Methodist Church and make their home in downtown Franklin - right on West Main Street. They have three children: Bo- 21, a senior at the University of Mississippi, Keeling – 10, a 5th grader at Battle Ground Academy and Calhoun – 4, in preschool at FFUMC. They include their four-legged children in the mix – a neurotic French Bulldog named Tallulah Barkhead and a very large fat CAT named Eliza Doolittle.
